When God created each of us at the beginning of Creation, he selected our generation and parents. He planned each day of our life for us at that time, which contained a unique mission to accomplish for Him during our time on earth. God’s plan for us is the best one possible because it is filled with love and hope.
Everyone’s life journey up to this moment has been unique, filled with many paths taken which were both pleasing and sometimes displeasing to God. Jesus, in His human nature, lived among us, and saw our frailty and inclination to sin. Despite our unworthiness, He never stopped loving mankind then and now.
Jesus came to earth as Savior and Redeemer of all mankind, regardless of color, race or religion. Every person God creates has the right to gain eternal life with their Creator. We hear Jesus’ words in John 10:16, “I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd,” meaning that only in Him can the world become one. Thus, we are called, as imitators of Jesus, to follow Him and show His love to every brother and sister that we meet every day.
It’s easy to get stressed when something unexpected happens that changes our plans, like the global pandemic. Our plans are no longer under our control, and in actuality, they have always been under God’s control. With confidence, let’s make God part of our planning process.
We will need the grace of God to strengthen us, so that we can adapt to a new plan that will emerge for us. Despite the fact that our plans can change at any time, the goal remains the same, Heaven. This is certainly true when our trust in God’s faithful care for us is tested. Continuing to follow Him during such troubling times will eventually bring the peace, love and joy that we seek in this life. We please the Lord by fulfilling His will, following His commandments, and we will receive many blessings and graces for our commitment. Heaven awaits the faithful who center their life in God!
